I am a highly qualified and experienced psychotherapeutic counsellor and, to enable me to work with young people, I hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling Children and Adolescents. I work as a Humanistic counsellor and aim to bring together the approach which is most likely to be of lasting help to each individual client.
I have a broad range of additional training in modalities such as Solution Focused Brief Practice, Bereavement Care and the new-wave CBT treatments such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT).
I am an insured and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I undertake regular supervision and continuing professional development. I am bound by a professional code of ethics and guidelines to ensure the safety and well-being of my clients; this means that my practice is regularly reviewed and supported so as to offer you the best service possible.
I have experience gained counselling in higher education, colleges, a youth counselling agency, a dementia care charity, and in private practice.
I also have experience of facilitating therapeutic groups for people coping with the effects of depression and anxiety.
